Clay Harper - 'Hey' - (Casino Royale) - CD EP    

I haven't heard many bands mix indierock and the Blues very often.   I like it when the Grifters do it and I like it when Clay Harper does it too.   "Hey" is played simple, a lone strummed electric guitar and raspy vocals sing of indignation and loss, while "Martin" reminds me a lot of Social Distortion if they weren't so slick now.   This is pretty tight, and sounds live and that's pretty impressive. *** ½ (shane)
